My Second Visit to my Ob-Gyne

I just visited my OB last July 30 for my second Transvaginal U/S. We just hear my baby’s heartbeat for the first time, I am so happy that he has 143 bmp. He is now 7w5d in gestation And it was a good sign; it’s just bothering me that my OB detected that I have subchorionic hemorrhage although it is a cm. It really worried me a lot, Dra. Delos Reyes gave me another batch of Duvagen and additional Duphaston (Dydrogesterone) because I have a history of 2 consecutive miscarriages. I hope this one’s goes well. And I hope my baby will be safe.

I have Facts here regarding the following base on the explanation of my doctor.

Subchorionic Hemorrhage is bleeding behind the placenta, often caused by a clot.  In most cases, this clot will dissolve away, resolving the problem and allowing the pregnancy to progress normally.  It may take several weeks for this clot to dissolve.  Treatment for a Subchorionic hemorrhage is typically bed rest.
Rarely, the clot dissects between the placenta and the attachment to mother.  This may lead to placental abruption.  Risk factors that may increase the chance of experiencing this include high blood pressure, smoking and cocaine use.  Symptoms may include:
-  contractions that don't stop
-  pain in the uterus
-  tenderness in the abdomen over the uterus
-  vaginal bleeding
If you experience these symptoms, you should contact your physician immediately.  Treatment of placental abruption will vary according to your particular state.  If the separation of the placenta is small, the baby isn't in distress, and your condition is stable, you may be able to go home and continue the pregnancy with frequent checkups.  If the separation is moderate to severe but the baby is not in distress and your condition is stable, the doctor may induce labor and perform a vaginal delivery.

Duphaston (Dydrogesterone)In women, progesterone is responsible for the development of a healthy womb lining (endometrium) that is necessary for pregnancy. The body produces progesterone at certain times of the menstrual cycle, causing the womb lining to flourish. If a fertilized egg does not attach to the womb lining by the end of the monthly menstrual cycle, the levels of progesterone in the body decrease. This causes the body to shed the womb lining (a menstrual ‘period’). If a fertilized egg successfully attaches to the womb lining by the end of the monthly cycle, progesterone levels in the body remain high. This helps maintain a healthy womb lining for the ongoing pregnancy. As dydrogesterone helps regulate the healthy growth and normal shedding of the womb lining, it may be used in the treatment of menstrual disorders such as absent, irregular or painful menstrual periods, infertility, premenstrual syndrome and endometriosis. It may also be used to minimise the overgrowth of the womb lining due to oestrogen (the main female sex hormone) in hormone replacement therapy (HRT) following menopause. By maintaining the womb lining, dydrogesterone is also useful in helping prevent miscarriage (spontaneous abortion) in women who have suffered repeated miscarriages or who may miscarry

Pregnancy Fact

You Could Be Pregnant For Over A Year

You Could Be Pregnant For Over A Year
Most pregnancies last for about 9 months and doctors are likely to induce labor if pregnancy goes on too long. That being said, it is possible to be pregnant for a whole year. The world's longest pregnancy lasted 375 days, strangely, the baby was only a little under seven pounds.
It certainly puts a whole new perspective on being a few weeks late, doesn't it?

A Male Fetus Can Get Erections In The Womb

A Male Fetus Can Get Erections In The Womb
Most mothers don't like to think about their baby boys getting erections, even when they are teenagers, but the fact is that many baby boys get boners while they're still in the womb. In fact, babies of both sexes are known to masturbate in utero, but boys are the only ones who can be caught while aroused on the sonogram.

If having sex while pregnant seemed a little creepy before now, just imagine what your baby is doing while you make love. (Link  | Photo )

Your Entire Undercarriage Might Need Stitches

Your Entire Undercarriage Might Need Stitches
The last place any woman wants stitches is in her taint, but many mothers have to get that area closed up surgically. Nine out of ten women have some type of vaginal tearing after birth, but there are many degrees of tearing. Some tears only require a little care or a few stitches, but the really bad cases go from the vagina all the way to the anus. Some can even affect the muscles beyond your anus. On the upside, tearing that reaches the anus is somewhat rare and only affects one in one hundred mothers.
Massaging the area prior to child birth can reduce tearing, but even then, it won't completely stop tearing in most people.
Suddenly, getting a C-section started sounding a whole lot more appealing, huh? (Link  | Photo )

 You May Just Poop Yourself

You May Just Poop Yourself
During childbirth, it is extremely common for a woman to accidentally expel the contents of her bowels. There is a good reason for this –the muscles you use to push the baby out are the same ones you ordinarily use during a bowel movement. As if that weren't enough to get your sphincter ready to go, the baby directly pushes on the rectum as it makes its exit, helping to squeeze out anything near the exit.

In olden times, it was common for nurses to give enemas prior to labor, but this practice didn't end up stopping the mess from happening and often caused dehydration. These days, your doctors and nurses will be ready to help clean up the mess. In most cases, they won't even say anything about it so you won't know the difference.
It does make you think twice about filming the birth though, doesn't it?(Link  | Photo )

 You Really Will Glow

You Really Will Glow
Saying a pregnant woman is glowing is a common expression, but most people chalk it up to the woman's excitement about becoming a mommy. As it turns out though, glowing skin is a very real thing for pregnant women. While you're pregnant, the amount of blood in your body will increase by 50%. The extra blood ends up showing through the skin in many areas, particularly the cheeks.

On top of this, hormones cause the oil glands to become more active, resulting in a softer, shinier appearance. When the increased blood flow combines with shine, the result is a noticeable glow. (Link | Photo )

Your Sense of Smell Gets Better

Your Sense of Smell Gets Better
During pregnancy, your sense of smell increases drastically, as does your sense of taste. Scientists hypothesize that this is to help pregnant mothers avoid eating small levels of toxins that might not be dangerous to an adult, but could be deadly to a fetus. As smoke, alcohol and coffee are all particularly noticeable to pregnant women, this theory certainly seems to be on the right path. (Link | Photo )

 Contractions Don't Stop After Birth

Contractions Don't Stop After Birth
Most mothers will have contractions for the first few days after birth. Themuscle cramps are the body's way of stopping excess blood loss. On the upside, if you give birth at the hospital, you'll still be pretty drugged up and will probably barely even notice. (Link  | Photo )

You Don't Really Need To Eat For Two

You Don't Really Need To Eat For Two
Despite the widespread rumors that say pregnant women need to gain all the weight they can in order to birth a healthy baby, the truth is that most women will only need an extra 300 calories per day. That's equivalent to about one serving of yogurt and half a bagel. Most women only need to gain about 25 pounds throughout their entire pregnancy.

Of course, if you happen to be at the buffet and are having a tough time resisting the desserts section, go ahead and sneak a little extra. No one will give a pregnant woman a hard time if she pigs out. (Link  | Photo )

Your Feet Can Grow Up To One Full Shoe Size

Your Feet Can Grow Up To One Full Shoe Size
If you're wondering why your feet will get so big when you only gain 25 pounds, it has to do with the excess pressure on your feet paired with relaxed ligaments in your body. As your pregnancy wears on, your body starts to release the tightness of its ligaments to help with the birthing process. Unfortunately for your shoes, this also means your feet start to lose their arch and stretch out on the sides. The flatter, wider shape of your feet will probably be temporary, but if they grew too much, the change could end up being permanent. If your feet do stay a bit larger, it certainly will serve as a great excuse to buy more shoes. (Link | Photo )

The Father Might Show Symptoms of Pregnancy

The Father Might Show Symptoms of Pregnancy
It's surprisingly common for a father-to-be to start gaining weight, getting morning sickness and even feel cramps in his lower abdomen. The condition is known as a sympathetic pregnancy or the Couvade Syndrome, which comes from the french word couvee meaning "to hatch". (Link  | Photo )

Argh! I can’t sleep well

I often feel this stuff like when you’re in the middle of your sleep you will suddenly awaken, not by noise or snore of Dad, but you will be awaken by hungriness.. Although I ate at night and drink my maternal milk, I will end up like this, yung pakiramdam na gutom na gutom ka tapos kahit anung pilit mo matulog ‘di ka talaga nakatulog, gustuhin ko man kumain kaso nakakatamad, sana may solusyon dito noh,.? Old Wives Tale

I just read this and some of my friends tell me that some of these OLD WIVES TALES is true..

Carrying High or Low?
This is a well known old wives tale – so many people will want to look at your belly and think they can guess just from looking! So as the tale goes, if you are carrying low, it’s a boy, or if you’re carrying high it’s a girl. We wont tell them that the way the baby is carried is actually a reflection of your own body shape, muscle, baby’s position and other physical factors!

Dry or Soft?

If your skin is dry, you’re said to be having a boy – and if it’s soft, then a girl is on the way.

What’s Baby’s Heartrate?

First, to set the record straight, until it’s born, your baby’s heartrate will not be affected by it’s gender. But so they say, if you’re carrying a girl, then baby’s heartrate will be above 140bpm (beats per minute). A boy is said to have a heart rate under 140bpm. A study published in the Journal of Reproductive Medicine (1996) has dismissed this theory, as has other research. Your baby’s heart rate will change often during a pregnancy, depending on the baby’s age and it’s movement. Anything from 120-160bpm is normal for an unborn baby.

Your Flowing Locks

Has your hair become thinner and dull? Or full-bodied and glossy? Thin and dull says girl, gorgeous and glossy says a boy.

Where Are You Carrying Extra Weight?

Even those extra pregnancy kilos is said to give us an insight into your baby’s gender! If you are carrying extra weight at the front, then you’re having a boy… but if you are carrying extra weight on your bum and hips, then you have been carrying a girl.

Sweet, Salty or Sour?

Another well known old wives tale!!! Are you craving sweet foods like juice, fruits and chocolate? if so, old wives say that you could be having a girl. But if you’re craving sour or salty foods, then you could be having a boy. It’s also said that if you are having a boy, you will crave protein like meat and dairy. I have trouble believing this one because I think we’d be overrun by a population of females – we all love chocolate pregnant or not!

The Wedding Ring Over The Belly Trick!

Get your wedding ring (or other ring/needle/pin) and attach it with a strand of your hair or some string. Lie down and dangle the ring over your belly. If it starts moving in circles, you are having a boy, or if it moves like a pendulum from side to side, then you are having a girl.

Morning Sickness?

Did you experience morning sickness in early pregnancy? If you did, then you’re said to be carrying a girl, but if you didn’t have morning sickness, then it’s a boy. Oh! That one was actually true for me!

Cold Feet?

If your feet get colder than they used to pre-pregnancy, it’s a sign you have a boy on the way. If your feet are the same, then it’s a girl!

How Do You Look?

Do you look better than ever while pregnant? Or has the pregnancy done your looks no favours? As it goes, if you look great during pregnancy, then you are carrying a boy. If you don’t look too flash, you’re having a girl, because she’s stolen all your good looks!

How’s Your Partner’s Belly?

Apparently, if your husband puts on ‘sympathy’ weight with you during your pregnancy, then you’re supposed to be carrying a girl. If he doesn’t put on any weight, then it’s a boy.

The Breast Test!

If you look in the mirror at your breasts, which one is larger? If it’s the right one, you’re carrying a boy and for a larger left breast, then it’s a girl. Which only leaves one question… if your breasts are both the same size, does that mean one of each? I’ll leave you with that to ponder!

North or South?

No I don’t mean your boobs! When you sleep, is your pillow north or south? If it’s north, then expect a boy, or south means a girl is on the way.

Pimples, Schmiples…

If you get acne during pregnancy, apparently you’re having a girl, and if you don’t, then you’re carrying a boy.

Are You A Lefty or a Righty?

So when you sleep, do you sleep on your left? Because if you do, then it’s a boy for you! On your right, a girl is in sight.

Checking Out Your Wee!

Ooooookay…. now apparently if you have bright yellow urine, then you’re carrying a boy, but if it’s dull / clear, then you’re carrying a girl. On a serious note though, if you have dark urine, up your fluids intake as you may be dehydrated.

What Does Your Belly Look Like?

A basketball or a watermelon? Because if it looks more like a basketball, then old wives say boy, but if it more resembles a watermelon then it’s a girl.

Hairy Legs?

Has the hair on your legs grown faster than normal? Or has it grown just like normal? Because if it’s growing faster than it did pre-pregnancy, then you’re said to be having a boy.

Take a Guess!

After all, you have 50% chance of getting it right! It may be even more than that – in doing my research, I came across an article which said a study was done on mother’s guessing the gender. The women (who didn’t yet know their baby’s sex), guessed the correct sex of their baby 71% of the time. Not bad!!!
These are all old wives tales only and we take no responsibility for their accuracy!!!

Pregnancy Discomfort

Back Pain – madalas ‘to dahil siyempre 8 hours yung work nakaupo at tayo ka lang sa office, as in pati backbone mo sumasakit talaga kaya pag dating sa bahay humihiga ako kahit 30 mins.

And this just some of the discomfort ko so far…sana hindi na siya madagdagan, J

Finally Its Here :))

I just can't believe it that I am now 2 months pregnant after visiting my OB, dati ingit na ingit ako sa mga ka-officemate ko na nabuntis and nakapag deliver na ng baby. Last year 2011, tatlo kaming nag buntis, Si Janine, Sarah and me.. but unfortunately yung baby ni Janine nadeliver sya pero after several days nag passed away yung baby niya due to infection yata, so 2 nalang kami ni Sarah I'm on my 4th month, I had a regular check-up kumpleto ako ng mga gamot at vitamins, its just happen on December 23, 2011, may schedule ako ng Check-up I was so shocked nung malaman ko na 2 weeks na daw nag passed away yung baby ko ( My doctor checked through ultrasound.) I almost cry na talaga, pero sabi ng OB ko para daw maka sure mag ask daw ako ng second opinion sa ibang OB..  Nung mga oras na yun halos hindi ko mahakbang yung paa ko palabas ng Clinic ni Dra. Delos Reyes, ang bigat ng katawan ko tapos yung luha ko talagang umaagos siya kahit pigilin ko, that time I can think of just one person na pwede ko iyakan, which is my Husband ( Darwin). I dial his number and when he pick-up the phone I burst into thirst, then he ask me anung nangyari I just told him, "nawala na naman." ( It was my second miscarriage first late December 2010) Nag-buntong hininga lang siya then sabay sabi, "hindi pa siguro siya para sa atin mi". I know deep inside that his crying pero being a man ayaw niya din siguro Makita or marinig ko na umiiyak siya. So we decided to take a second opinion, but it still the same, so we don’t have any choice just to remove the baby to avoid internal poisoning kasi patay na siya sa tiyan ko. January 2, after so much pain, and drugs they inject to me finally I gave birth to a lifeless beautiful baby girl, naiyak na naman ako after seeing her so little and fragile, nakakaawa talaga, lahat na ng mga hinaing ko sa buhay nasabi ko na.."bakit yung mga ayaw magka-baby siya pa yung nabubuntis at pilit nilang pinapatay. Yung mga nakatira sa Squatter Area na halos walang makain at walang iniinom na mga vitamins siya pa yung nabubuhayan ng anak. At bakit yung mga nabibiyayaan ng anak pilit naman nilang ina-abandoned yung mga anak nila kung saan-saan lang." Grabe talaga sama ng loob ko, It’s so hard for me to accept it kasi I was so excited having my own child. Someone I can call my own. Maybe God really has a good plan for us.. We better believe him..

May 13, 2012 (Mother’s Day)
-          This is my Last Menstrual Period, I’m taking Chlomiphene( Chlomid) This medication is used to treat infertility in women. It works by stimulating an increase in the amount of hormones that support the growth and release of a mature egg (ovulation). This medication is not recommended for women whose ovaries no longer make eggs properly (primary pituitary or ovarian failure).
-          I am also taking Folic Acid, Ascorbic Acid and eat mostly vegetables..
-          I am taking Pregnancy test every after 2 weeks to make sure if it works for me..

June 13, 2012
-          Still no period and it the result is Negative..
-          It bothers me I need to take a batch of Chlomid ( result is possible to conceived a Twin!)

July  16, 2012
-          After 6 months of waiting.. I took a PT, coz I feel a little bit of dizziness, and then Boom! Its POSITIVE!!
-          I’m so excited na ipakita yung result sa husband ko..

July 17, 2012
-          My OB told me to have Transvaginal Ultrasound to check wheter if I had subchronic hemorrhage, luckily its negative she just saw my tiny sac about 4w6d in gestation..
-          I am now eating healthy and avoiding too much stress, I hope this one goes well, I will be the most happy woman in the world..
